Implant Dentistry

Did you know that 75 percent of people over 50 are missing at least one tooth? Implant can change your overall heath while also transforming your entire facial aesthetics.

Implant dentistry is an exciting option for patients who are missing a single tooth next to adjacent healthy teeth, or for those with loose dentures. While many patients who are missing a single tooth might choose a fixed bridge, that bridge often requires the dentist to cut down healthy teeth nearby. Implant dentistry can fix your smile without affecting any adjacent teeth, which is a healthier option.

For those patients with conventional dentures - especially lowers - who have grown used to embarrassing slips, implant dentistry is an exciting option. Dental implants can completely end the discomfort and embarrassment of slips that occur during chewing and talking.

Whatever your situation, implant dentistry may be able to help. Not only are the implants safe and highly successful, patients who have had them often describe the implants as “miraculous”. Dr. Terri works very closely with the oral surgeon to coordinate your cosmetic dentistry treatment.

Treating Worn Teeth

Worn teeth can make you and your smile look old. More important than just appearance, worn teeth can affect your bite in a negative way, and cause tooth loss. Drs Terri and Cindy will first look at the cause of your tooth wear and treat accordingly. Depending on the situation, this can be done with bonding, veneers, and/or crowns. Our patients are amazed with the transformation in their appearance when worn teeth are restored. Sometimes this can be done in a single appointment procedure. What our patients really appreciate is the fact that we can usually stop additional wear and restore teeth to their normal appearance and function.

Dentures and Partial Dentures

Two types of dentures are available for the replacement of missing teeth. Full or complete dentures are used to replace full sets of teeth. When some natural teeth are still present partials can be used. Partials can be helpful to keep the remaining teeth from shifting.

Dental implants can also be used in conjunction with dentures (implanted-supported dentures) providing a more stable fit that will give you confidence in your dentures.

Crowns and Bridges

Dental crowns and bridges are custom-fitted tooth prosthetics that replace or restore damaged or missing teeth. Crowns are fixed over the surfaces of natural tooth structures or dental implants. Bridges are used to fill in the gaps left by missing teeth and are anchored in place by the natural teeth. Both crowns and bridges are non-removable and must be cemented in place. Patients who get crown or bridges to restore their smiles achieve both the function and appearance of natural, healthy teeth.
